What you need to know
We have tried to answer important logistical questions you may have prior to beginning therapy. Please see below for relevant information regarding your appointments and fee's.
Scheduling of appointments
Your first appointment can be booked through one of our therapists by phone or email.
Ongoing and returning clients will be able to book future appointments using our on-line booking platform fundycoastcounselling.janeapp.com.
When booking on-line, in the event there are no available appointments that work for you; contact your therapist directly as it may be possible to arrange an alternative appointment time.
* We are able to provide email and/or text message reminders for appointments
Appointments
All counselling/therapy sessions are 60 minutes; 50 minutes direct therapy time and 10 minutes for your therapist to record session notes. As we have a small waiting area we ask you to please arrive promptly and quietly at your scheduled appointment time and your therapist will greet you. In the event you arrive early please wait in your vehicle until scheduled appointment time
Fee’s
Individual, couples and family sessions are $130 per hour session. Accepted forms of payment for service include debit, credit, cash or e-transfer accepted at the time of your appointment. You will be provided with an electronic receipt with necessary information to submit to your insurance provider.
Insurance
At this time, Fundy Coast Counselling and Therapy Services is not providing direct billing to insurance companies, however you will receive a receipt with necessary information to submit to your insurance provider.
Many private insurance plans (Johnsons, Blue Cross, Sunlife, etc.) cover a degree of Counselling, Psychological or Mental Health services. Insurance plans vary regarding the professional credentials they will cover. We encourage any individual intending to submit receipts for reimbursement of counselling services, to first check with their insurance provider. The therapist you will see at Fundy Coast Counselling will be a Licensed Counselling Therapist (LCT) with their Masters of Counselling Psychology (M.Ed). These are the credentials you are looking for within your mental health coverage. We cannot guarantee that our therapists will be covered under your plan.
Cancellations or Missed Appointments
We understand that at times life interferes with scheduled appointments and so we encourage you to reschedule or cancel appointments as needed, either through your therapist or via our online booking system. A minimum of 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to provide 24-hour notice will result in a late-cancellation fee of $75. This is to ensure and maintain a high level of service accessibility and delivery to all our clients. If there is an emergency, illness, or circumstance beyond your control, the fee will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
